Current version of WebMail Lite PHP offers integration with ownCloud. You can download the integration app here, it's also published at apps.ownCloud.com and marketplace.ownCloud.com.

Detailed information on using the application is found here.

Eventually, we're going to move community support over to GitHub. If you have any questions or encounter any issues using WebMail within ownCloud, please feel free to open a ticket at the issue tracker. Thanks!

Hi Igor
Thanks for this - i really appriciate this.

How ever - the "Install guide" is not clear to me.

What exactly do i have to enter for
"File path to AfterLogic WebMail installation"????

I mean the file Path yeah, but what Path? Full Path on the File System? I don't know! My System is hosted (I don't host myselfe), so i do not eaven know where on this system my "Profile" exactly lies. Can i use a relative path? I tried
~/mail as i have my installation within MYDOMAIN/mail, but this dosnt work. I also tried /mail but thats also not working. So - could you provide something like a "Format preview" what the system is expecting here?

It can be something like "var/www/afterlogic". I don't think relative path can be used there.

Can you actually add a feature in webmail, that allows mapping a custom Webdav repository to upload/download file from?

Thanks!

It might be added in WebMail Pro. Lite version doesn't support DAV handling in any way.

If you believe the feature may be useful for many people, consider posting a suggestion at afterlogic.uservoice.com.

Is it possible to access mail hosted on another server?

Yes sure, just supply different IMAP/SMTP server details in Default domain settings.

What about an owncloud-integration for Files? Like Dropbox or Google Drive. Maybe in Aurora?

We are planning to add this in terms of WebMail Pro, and when it's added there it'll definitely be a part of Aurora as well.

The app doesn't work in in Owcnloud 8, any word when it will be fixed?

Also would it be possible to get the contacts from owncloud it self instead of getting the contacts from Afterlogic lite. Now you have the owncloud contact list en Afterlogic Lite contact list en currently no way of syncing them.

This would allow to for central contact management and mail from in owncloud it self using the contact list from owncloud.

ownCloud broke something with their new release. They issued several patches since the v8.0 release but none actually helped. It's hard to say what exactly is wrong because the problem seems to occur somewhere in deep internals of ownCloud. Moreover, some people report that WebMail Lite works fine with their ownCloud 8 so the problem is not even consistent. Maybe someone in the community who's familiar with ownCloud's internals will be able to provide a workaround.

Nice idea! If you're going to develop such a plugin, please let us know and we'll post it in Plugins repository to let everyone use it. Thanks!

Alex

Did some quick checking, if you try to edit the Afterlogic config in owncloud it just says "error" while saving. No PHP error, looking futher in to this (AJAX request) this returns "302 Found" but nothing with it.

Also if you go form owncloud to Afterlogic mail app it gives the same error while loading the page "302 Found" and returns nothing.
Immediate after it loads the default App Files.

Just from this info i would suggest its more related to the Afterlogic app than Owncloud 8.

Developing the Contacts integration, don't know if i have the time to make it and also maintain it. But did some quick research. With the API for searching contacts from external source and the API from Owncloud to get contacts would be the easiest way.
In the Afterlogic Owncloud app add a file witch returns the contacts and in webmail lite with the plugin get the contacts from the new file from the Afterlogic Owncloud app and disable contacts in Webmail lite.

This i think would be the easiest, fastest way and easy to maintain and almost no setup work for system admin to deploy.

Awesome its working again :)

And any word on integrating the contacts?

I could write this implementation but would take allot of time and would not be in the near future, rather busy @work. Also finding the time for improving and maintaining this plugin will bee an issue.

But if you guys are planing to implement this, i would like to help testing :)

To tell the truth, our team is just a few people. So the short answer is "no", not because we think this feature is not important or anything like that. We just don't have enough workforce for that. Instead, we're currently working on improving API and documentation to let community members do what they need. Seems it's the only feasible way to have all that nice things done (as we're getting cool feature requests everyday).

Alex

I upgraded to Aurora 7.6 and I have found this OwnCloud app not to work any longer. In Chrome I get the "Aww Snap" message, and in IE it just brings me to the Aurora login page. Aurora works fine on it's own.

Afterlogic Owncloud App version 1.0.3
Owncloud version 8.0.4 (EDIT: Just tried it with the newest version 8.1 with the same result)
Aurora 7.6

Anyone else having any issues? Thanks for any help in advance!

I've tested this with WebMail Lite 7.6 on ownCloud 8.0.4, and it works just fine there in IE, Chrome and Firefox. I don't really think the behavior would be any different with Aurora but I'm going to give it a try.

Have just checked this, the issue is not confirmed. I would assume there's a misconfiguration of some sort on your installation, pertaining to the integrator specifically. Make sure both the URL and filesystem path are supplied correctly - on my own install, it looks like this:

Web URL to AfterLogic WebMail installation:
http://cloud.mydomain.com/aurora/

File path to AfterLogic WebMail installation:
/var/www/owncloud/aurora/

Also, make sure that you don't have the use of Iframe blocked.

I have it working on Owncloud 8.0.4 and 8.1. Thanks for the quick reply!

The data directory of my Aurora directory had the wrong permissions. I have ownCloud and Aurora on two different servers with an NFS share so the OwnCloud can see the Aurora directory.
