It sounded so simple to create a new skin, so I copied the "Funny" skin and simply changed the background, renamed the folder, and uploaded to the skins directory. The new skin doesn't show up anywhere.

What am I missing?

More Info: Uploading a different background.jpg into the Funny skins folder did change the background. Still can't get a new skin to show up as expected.

If you're adding new skins, you'll need to supply an updated list of skins by adding an item of the following kind to array defined in data/settings/config.php file:

Code:
'themes' => array('Default', 'DeepForest', 'OpenWater', 'Funny', 'BlueJeans', 'White'),

with your custom skin(s) listed there too.

Hope this helps!

I wanted to just change the background of a skin... I wasn't even creating a new skin all together, and yet it doesn't change. I just replaced the background.jpg with my preferred background.jpg and nothing has changed. Any ideas?

Can you please confirm where exactly you've changed the file? There are multiple locations where skin background can be found, the one to replace is found under static directory, e.g. static/styles/themes/DeepForest/images/background.jpg.
