I installed AfterLogic Webmail Lite Ver7.4.1 on my server, and It happened Japanese mail subject character corruption recieved from mailserver.

May be, corruption subject encoded by ISO-2022-JP, but UTF-8 subject not corrupted.

Body of email have no corruption, it's readable.

This issue also happened V7.4.0, but V7.3.0 have no problem of subject character on same server.

Dose Ver7.4.x have anything change of configuration for Japanese use ? Please advice me. Thanks.

We're not aware of any changes which might be related to this behavior. Would it be possible to provide us with a test account on your WebMail setup the issue can be reproduced on? You can send us login details privately via HelpDesk.

Without a test account we'll be unable to help as it's not even clear where to start. You'll need to set up another webmail instance on a publicly available host and provide a test account.

Or, we can do this on our own server for you (in terms of commercial support).

Alex

Same here. The chinese title will display incorrectly on the list panel, but it is fine on content panel (Chrome/IE 11). See the image below. BTW, I can setup a test account for you.

PS. This is .Net version WebMail Lite hosted on a server with Taiwan locale (Traditional Chinese). DB is MS SQL Server.

WebMail Lite ASP.NET version is no longer maintained. Consider switching to WebMail Pro ASP.NET. If you're looking for a free product, using WebMail Lite PHP is recommended.

[My Environment]

Product : AfterLogic WebMail Pro Version7.4.0.7 & WebMail Lite
Server : CentOS 6.5, Apache, postfix, mysql

Server setting
Domain > Regional Settings > Language : Japanese
SQL type: MySQL

User setting
Settings > Common > Language : Japanese

[Big big problem for japanese]

When webmail-pro receives an e-mail using iso-2022-jp in the subject, character corruption occurs.
Subject of utf-8 no problem.
(I do not know other character encoding. Not tested.)

There is no problem in the following cool products .

atmail 7.4.2(Not open souce)
RainLoop Webmail
SquirrelMail
Roundcube
..etc

Nobody would buy in the Japanese market, until resolved.
Also Chinese?

Can you send a message in question (with iso-2022-jp charset) to support at afterlogic.com address? Thank you.

BTW, any use of RainLoop can put you at risk. RainLoop is illegal fork of AfterLogic WebMail, with our original copyrights changed without our permission (its creator developed this product while working in AfterLogic and was fired for making and selling a clone product which competes with his own company). Technically it may be great as it's based on our product but legally it's far from so.

Regards,
Alex
