I'd like to have an Archive button next to the Delete button which would move a Mail into the Archive folder (usually called Archive) instead of moving it into the Trash folder.

These is pretty common everywhere by now and seems to be an obvious omission in this webmail client.

Thanks!

Thank you. Please feel free to post the suggestion at afterlogic.uservoice.com, if the feature gets substantial number of votes, we will consider implementing that.

Also, since WebMail Lite is free open-source application, you can modify the product and add any functionality you require.

I've added a vote here too - I was thinking about google's 'send and archive' option when replying which would be a great addition/option/plugin etc.

There's no ETA on it, the feature wasn't included in roadmap yet.

If you might be interested in ordering development of this feature in terms of Professional Services contract, please let us know.

Igor,
I guess there's a lot of suggestion requesting that function on the application. I guess you have a chance to develop that function very fast. (due to my developer's view, that is only a button which moves emails from the inbox directly to a folder named "archive".
By my perspective, you have a necessary knowledge to do it, and to offer us a good reason to keep our email with this product.-
Please think about that.
I guess if that is good for google's user --> it's good for our users.

Adding such a button is not that easy because it's about to be put in the most important toolbar of the product. We need to think and solve some matters for that. Just to name a few:
- What to do if there is no Archive folder in the account. Google does not have this problem - they always have it. But most servers don't. Should we create the folder to provide consistency or should we hide a button, or disable it and show in tooltip why it's disabled. It's the question of usability, and it has no simple Yes or No answer.
- Should it be there in mobile layout (delete/spam are there and archive is semantically the same). There is no place for extra button so we need to think what to remove or refactor the entire mobile UI to let it hold any number of buttons. Complex question which causes lots of consequences.

With custom developments, we can do whatever the customer needs but for out-of-box version we must take much more matters into the account.

Regards,
Alex
