Hi all,

I'm new here, and I'm also new to AfterLogic WebMail Lite.

I just now created a brand new VM with CentOS7, and made a webserver out of it.

I extracted the AfterLogic WebMail Lite ZIP file to /var/www/html/webmail, went to example.com/webmail/install, and the 'Server Compatibility Test and Pre-Installation Check' is showing. All is green, except for the bottom part:

WebMail data folder: Error, data folder path discovery failure.

Creating/deleting folders Error, can't create/delete sub-folders in the data folder.

Creating/deleting files Error, can't create/delete files in the data folder.

WebMail Settings File: Found

Read/write settings file: Not Found, can't find "/var/www/html/webmail/data/settings/settings.xml" file.

I have tried all possible user names (chown) and, as a test, have even given 777 rights (chmod) to everything in /webmail, but I cannot get past this dreaded Pre-Installation Check page.
And even though the last error message states 'can't find'; the file is there.

Can anybody help me out and tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Strange. If you provide root to the server, we'll be able to take a look. You can use http://www.afterlogic.com/helpdesk for that.

Thanks for the offer. Found it out in the end... It had to do with the 'security enhancement' of SELinux.
It works now
